Science of Coffee Art

As Cofffanatics, I know you're curious about those fancy art on coffee!!

REVEAL TIME!!!

Let us reveal some theories behind these cups!

1. Coffee is like a piece of paper and FROTH is like the ink from the pen! And remember, it's just the FROTH, NOT MILK!!

Why? Because milk is too dense and will sink right down. Froth is made out of air bubbles, allowing it to float on the surface!

2. Start slow...go real slow. Coffee is very delicate and savage, so don't hurt it! If you're rushing through the pour, the coffee knows! And you will break the crema, washing out your coffee contrast! At the end of the day, you get nothing but a white surface...instant revenge from coffee.

3. Push some froth out once you're ready to jiggle the jug and create the art. To do that, lower the jug to let the froth flow out. Alternatively, give it a slight push.

4. Give your jug a bit of a lift while pouring to create finer designs. This is because when the spout is further away to the coffee, the milk gets thinner. Try it on water, when you pour water from high up, the water gets thinner when it hits the surface.

5. Jiggle that jug away! Pour your hearts out and love your coffee!!!

Tip: Watch and pause and watch and pause the video! Watch it as carefully as possible to understand these theories!

Happy pouring, Cofffanatics!!
